Description With origins that can be traced back as far as the 12th century, this charming old coaching inn is steeped in history; today, it offers comfortable en suite accommodation. Historically, the hotel was probably best known as the inn where they changed the horses on the mail run from Cardiff to Swansea. During the 18th century, Napoleon’s troops were held in the cellar en route to London, after a failed invasion at Fishguard. Today the hotel is famous for its fine home cooked food, friendly atmosphere and excellent ale. A lively and busy hotel in the pretty village of Cowbridge, the hotel is surrounded by beautiful Welsh countryside, with plenty of interesting places to visit nearby. The hotel has easy access to the region’s major road network and the breathtaking views of Brecon and the Valleys are close by. Cardiff city centre and the Cardiff Bay development are just 15 minutes away. Views: 0 |
