| Wild Boar Hotel (Nr Windermere) | Rooms from £95.00 | |||||||
| Sorry, photo not available |
Description Secluded, yet close by Windermere village and Bowness Bay, this traditional hotel is set within a haven of peace and tranquillity, in the ancient beauty of the Gilpin Valley. A former coaching inn, the hotel takes its name from the local legend of Sir Richard de Gilpin who bravely fought and killed a particularly ferocious wild boar close by. However, its fame these days has much more to do with the warmest of welcomes, fine food, complemented by an extensive wine cellar, and an eclectic mix of cosy rooms. A fusion of traditional décor and time-honoured ‘coaching inn ambience’, with a warm welcome and friendly service, assures a home-from-home delight. Views: 0 |
