Description Arties Mill is a charming old windmill originaly built circa 1790. The Mill is located 1 mile (1.7 km) from the town of Brigg which has a colourful history of markets and fairs. Brigg first grew as a crossing point on the river Ancholme taking its name from the bridge constructed to make east-west journeys easier. Sadly, its sails have been dismantled but the mill owners have preserved many interesting features of the old building.
