| Overall - "The Clough is advertised as a hotel whereas it is a Guest House. The furnishing in the bedroom and room facilities were the basic required, but did not give you a good feeling when you walked into the room, e.g. lights were dull with low wattage bulbs. The en-suite was very small and it was difficult to dry oneself without opening the door to the bedroom. The beds were comfortable and the room quiet. Breakfast was disappointing. Cerials and fruit juice were laid out for self service and we were asked if we wished tea or coffee which was OK. But then we were asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast, not what we would like for a cooked brakfast. Bacon, egg and tomato was one egg, one rasher of bacon and half a tomato. Toast had to be specifically asked for and then there was no choice of white or brown bread. Only brown was available and for two people two slices were supplied. Fried bread was not available. There was no incentive to have dinner or to use the bar." | |
