Description The Smugglers In the Heart of Medieval Rye Sleeps 3 and a half ! This cosy 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment is within a building dating back to the 16th century and so has a wealth of original features. It is accessed via an ancient pedestrianised lane and has its own front door at street level and video entry phone. Once inside you go up a steep but short flight of irregular stairs which opens at the top to the kitchen and lounge area and also has doors off to the 2 bedrooms and bathroom. Smugglers has been refurbished quite recently and although it has many ancient features it also benefits from a modern kitchen area and a harmonious mix of contemporary and antique furniture. The kitchen is open plan to the lounge area and is equiped with a Delonghi oven, hob, fridge and ample space for preparation. In this part of the room there is a feature ceiling opening into the eaves. Please note there is no washer/dryer or freezer. The lounge area comes equipped with a television with a free to air box and a dvd player. There is a small double bedroom and a single bedroom both of which could take a cot if necessary. The bathroom has a tasteful corner bath with a mixer shower attachment ,toilet and sink and features some unusual fossilized sea shells embedded into the wall.
