Description
Welcome…
To our independent, family run hotel. This charming, grade II listed building was built in 1784 and is one of the oldest to be found on Weymouth’s famous Georgian Esplanade. With breathtaking views of the bay and surrounding coastline, we are a natural choice for anyone visiting the area. You will instantly soak up the warm and friendly atmosphere upon your arrival and, during your stay, nothing will be too much trouble.
Ideally located on Weymouth’s seafront, yet just a stone’s throw from the centre of town, the Victoria Hotel provides an excellent base for all types of holiday. Families love us because we are located opposite the award-winning soft, golden sands; divers because of our wet storage facilities and anglers because of our deep freeze, where we are able to store their daily catches.
We are a perfect choice for birdwatchers, walkers and explorers of all descriptions due to Weymouth’s level nature and close proximity to many nature reserves, places of interest & natural beauty.
We are delighted to be operating a no-smoking policy in all of our hotel rooms. So whether your visit is for a holiday or short break, for business or pleasure, we believe that you will find The Victoria the right choice – whatever the occasion.
With Families in Mind…
We have created Room 5 which is a luxury sea-view family room located on the first floor. We have installed a kitchenette (with microwave, fridge, cutlery, crockery, etc) together with dining table & chairs and, for that finishing touch, we have added a half bath (and shower) in the bathroom. As well as a colour television, there is also a DVD player in this particular room. You pay a room rate instead of a per person rate with this room, making it an economically sound choice for larger families. We are able to provide travel cots and high chairs during your stay with us.
Bedrooms
We have en-suite single, double, twin and family rooms. All of our rooms are tastefully decorated, in keeping with the hotel’s character. All rooms have tea & coffee making facilities, colour TV, digital clock radios & central heating.
To make your stay more comfortable…
For your comfort, we are pleased to provide complimentary hand soap, shampoo, hair conditioner & shower gel in each of the bathrooms. We also provide freshly laundered towels and shower mats during your stay with us.
On the ground floor of the hotel, we have a guest lounge, which is available for our guests’ use. This, as with the rest of the hotel, is a no-smoking area and can be used to watch your favourite programme on television or simply for your relaxation.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served daily in our ground floor dining room. With breath taking sea views and a scrumptious freshly cooked full English breakfast, what better start to the day could you wish for?
On Our Doorstep…
Whatever the nature of your stay, Weymouth makes the ideal base:
World Heritage & Jurassic Coastline - The Dorset and east Devon coastline of England, where countless fossils have been found over hundreds of years, has been designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" and, in December 2001, was given World Heritage Site status. This puts the coast, which includes the beautiful cliffs of Golden Cap and the resort of Lyme Regis, on a par with the Taj Mahal, the Pyramids, the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef. The coast is the first natural site to win the ultimate accolade in England.
Here are just some of the places of interest to visit during your stay with us:
Brewers Quay, Chesil Beach, Portland, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Abbotsbury Swannery & Sub-Tropical Gardens, Monkey World, Sea Life, Nothe Fort, Bovington tank museum, RSPB nature reserves, countless boat trips, etc…
Other things to do in Weymouth:
Condor Ferries to the Channel Islands & France, 10 pin bowling, 9 screen cinema complex, shopping, golf, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, amusements, water sports, etc…
Directions
From Weymouth Railway Station Head diagonally to your left upon exiting the station, where you will find the Jubilee clock on the seafront. From The Ferry Terminal Just follow the seafront for about 500 yards and you will find us, just before Marks & Spencer, on the left.
