Description
The Cavendish Arms is a 450-year old coaching inn formerly known as the Fox and Grapes and is run by Richard & Donna English.
It is the oldest inn in the village and built within the village walls. It was one of the coaching stops and used to have stables where the bar is now, with guests sleeping above them. You can still see a mounting block dated 1837 outside the main door. Its age can sometimes be measured, although painfully, by the low beams and uneven floors.
